Biography
Billy Bingo was born in Brooklyn, New York, raised in Queens and has that "NY Attitude" when he takes the stage. He retired from the FDNY with over 20 years on the job as a Firefighter and Arson investigator. Since retiring he is now doing Stand Up Comedy full time and there's no turning back. Billy became hooked on performing whether it was cracking jokes at the kitchen table at his firehouse located in Jamaica Queens or on stage at the world famous Caroline’s on Broadway. His stand up performance is based on being a NYC Firefighter as well as what goes on in his life at home. Billy Bingo has found it very rewarding to use his comedic talents to raise money for various charities such as the "Make a Wish" foundation. He organizes and hosts an annual fundraiser called "The Bravest Night of Comedy" which features funny NYC Firefighters along with professional comedians to raise monies for the "Thomas Elsasser Scholarship fund" for widows and children of deceased FDNY members non-line of duty.
His stand up routine is "LOOSELY" based on his life in and around the firehouse as well as home. He had the thrill of a lifetime when on April 6th, in front of an audience of 1,500 in Coral Springs Florida he was the opening act for "911 Comic Relief" that featured such great acts as, Victoria Jackson, Brian Kilmeade, John DiResta, Terry Crowlet and Eddie Brill. He helped raise over $50,000 for the "My Firefighter's Widows' and Children's Fund".
Billy Bingo has also been a frequent guest comedian on LIVE radio WOR 710 AM with worldwide Rock & Roll Hall of fame DJ & Radio talk show host Joey Reynolds. You can also see Billy weekly as he hosts "Thursday Night Live" at McGuires Comedy Club, and on the Discovery Channel in December he will host a show called, "Is Your House Out to get You".
